MyKreative Celebrates new Drakes Jewellers Website

One of Plymouth’s oldest and best-known jewellers has launched its brand-new website this week with the help of local companies MyKreative Ltd & GSL. Like Drakes itself, the website captures the glamour and style of the brand, featuring the store’s iconic jewellery collections along with lots of new functions.

“We are delighted to work with Drakes again on their new website,” said MyKreative Director Mike Holden.  “We’ve worked with Drakes for over 10 years and we understand their brand and brand values and we always enjoy working with their marketing team.”

“A website is the front face of any brand or business. Hence, making the right and impactful first impression is very crucial for any business.”

Drakes was founded by the late Harry Hirshman and first opened their doors in 1950.  Over the past 70 years, they have taken some prominent locations across the city including Cornwall Street, New George Street, Raleigh Street and Drake Circus Shopping Centre.

Nicola Luscombe, Drakes Marketing Manager added “Our previous website was almost 6 years old, very old in website terms!  We felt that the online shopper has evolved greatly over the years and especially during the global pandemic with the temporary closure of non-essential retail.  During this time, we were able to carry out vital research on the customer journey and started to create a new website to reflect it.

“Our key aim for the new website is to enhance the experience for our customers, focusing on how they want to interact with the website and to navigate to other areas of the site. The site features our iconic jewellery collections, special trending items, advice and Buying Guides as well as news, in-store experiences and also a ChatBox for questions and advice.  Visitors to the site will also be able to create an account and a Wishlist option.  In addition, we’ve launched an Enquiry Box to every product, so the customer can easily contact us for more information.  The key is simplicity and usability.”

Mike added, “An attractive, interacting and user-friendly website is one of the success factors for any brand.
