MYKreative have been fortunate to have worked with China Fleet Country Club for over 6 years now on branding and advertising for the AA Four Star hotel, golf and country club just outside Plymouth.Set in 180 acres of exquisite countryside, on the cusp of Devon and Cornwall, China Fleet is one of the South West’s leading country clubs.
Just 15 minutes from Plymouth’s city centre, sitting on the stunning Tamar estuary, it provides the perfect opportunity for a break away from suburban life. As well as a busy golf club and driving range, China Fleet also has a beauty spa, hairdressers, swimming pool, gym, fitness classes, tennis courts, brasserie, bistro, outdoor eating, conference and wedding facilities.
In the past couple of years, the club has completed their £4million, refurbishment programme which has seen £751,000 spent on upgrading its existing 41 apartments and £500,000 ploughed into creating an Aqua Spa. In addition, £200,000 went into equipping the gym with top-class technology from some of the world’s leading brand.
“We really enjoy working with China Fleet County Club,” adds Mykreative Graphic Design Director Mike Holden. “It’s always an exciting and evolving account that keeps us on our toes! We work really closely with the whole team and get involved into the Club as much as we can. We even signed up as members as we believe that to fully understand a brand, you must be immersed into it. As such, we pump, cycle, run, hit, drive, sweat and literally jump into their deep end on a regular basis!”
Mykreative have worked on all aspects of the marketing from overall branding and signage, to lifestyle blog writing and Public Relations. In 2018 we were delighted to work with the club on their special celebrations with the First Sea Lord, Admiral Sir Philip Jones KCB ADC, the most senior Officer in the Royal Navy.
“The Sea Lord was there to officially open the Club’s recently refurbished £1m apartments after their £4m overall club investment,’ adds Mykreative Marketing Director Melanie Cowie. ‘Not everyone realises the Club’s connections to the Navy and as a military charity, he was also there to acknowledge the support of RNRMC and the importance of collaboration between service charities sharing the same beneficiary pool. It’s a great challenge to ensure that all stakeholders are involved and we really enjoy balancing key messages. Whether it’s a charity, sport or corporate angle, we work tirelessly to ensure all objectives are met.
